Our Summer Recap
We’ve definitely had more luxurious (hello Hamptons!) and easier summers, pre-kids, but I’m not sure we’ve ever had a fuller or more meaningful one than this past season. Last year, we’d just moved, had a new baby and I had emergency stomach surgery, after an appendicitis, so it was an unplanned, indoor, anticlimactic kind of calendar for us. This year, we were settled, acclimated, healthy and ready for revenge! 😉 And, so, from Memorial to Labor Day, we packed it in. Family vacations, trips to the beach and pool, play dates, parties, camps, cousins, city outings, museums… You name it, we did it. And while we’re sad to see summer and the lax mornings, late nights and endless ice cream go, we’re content knowing we lived and loved hard these last few months. Below, just a sampling of some of our favorite moments…
Devon Horse Show
Fun on my family’s farm.
My girl, who grew so much this summer, started it off in a vest and was straight up swimming by the end and going off the “high” dive. Never been prouder.
Lots of practice on the bike…
Reuniting with old friends.
Paw Patrol Camp
Fun on the 4th
Amelia Island
Exploring of our fantastic neighborhood.
Princess Camp
Greeting her number one fan at her performance.
Superhero Camp
Play-based camp
Fun at the Food Truck Festival
Farm Picking
Museums, exhibits and installations, oh my!
Museum of Ice Cream’s Pint Shop
Candytopia
And, of course, plenty of pool (and popsicle) time!
Thanks for being so good to us, Summer. On to the next season…
